“Broadway in Highlands 5” was a amazing showcase for a wide variety of local talent- vocalists, acoustic guitar, pipers and percussion, numbers from “The Boyfriend”, dancers, and our magician (master of ceremonies.)
A portion of the proceeds from this years show was to benefit the Danny Gilligan fund. Proceeds of past shows have enabled the club to help the community with bus shelters, holiday food baskets, glasses for the needy, and amblyopia eye screening of pre-school and kindergarten students to mention a few programs. Pictures from “Broadway in the Highlands 5” will be online soon.
This year a portion of our past president’s discretionary fund will be used to buy bicycle helmets for the “Child Safety Bike Program”, to be taught by the WMT schools physical education teachers. And in keeping with the major focus of Lions Clubs mission-helping the visually impaired-new windows will be purchased for the Chipmunk Cabin at Camp Marcella for the Blind.
