End of successful year-West Milford Lions Club

The West Milford Lions Club closed a successful year with the installation of its new slate of officers:President-William Francis, 1st Vice-President –Lou Corsaro, Second Vice-President-Mauro Macari, Secretary-Barbara Bassett, Treasurer-Howard Seufert, Tail Twister-Lynn Mandon, Lion Tamer-George Bassett.

This past year was a very active one for the club. Amblyopia screening of pre-school and kindergarten students was carried out in West Milford, Jefferson, Butler, and Kinnelon. Over 500 students were screened. Broadway in the Highlands was a huge success and proceeds from the show will help the club continue its ability to serve the community.
The White Cane drives at A&P and Shop Rite also helped the club raise money for our various charities. Socially, the club also sponsored two bus trips to Atlantic City. These events would not have been a success without the participation and generosity of the community of West Milford.

To end the year West Milford Lions awarded four scholarships to West Milford High School graduates. The recipients are: Marlee Lynch-Lions Scholarship, Jenna Capalbo-Dave Wagner Scholarship, Kaitlin Cibenko-Audie Gammon Sholarship, and Alyssa Pappas-John Wallisch Scolarship.

The West Milford Lions Club meets the first and third Wednesday of every month at 7pm at Café Italiano (formerly Le Bistro) in West Milford. New members are always welcome.
